Lentvaris Open Youth Center
The Youth center is an institution of open youth space – which is accessible to every young person (aged 14-29) from the Lentvaris area. Everyone is welcome, especially those who do not know where and how to spend leisure time. For those, who have ideas and don’t know how to implement them, we also give different support (seminars, trainings, consultancy, etc.). Every day we have around 15 young visitors. They can play different games, drink tea and chat with friends and discuss important things, play on musical instruments (guitars, keyboard, and drums). We organize different activities according to the youngster’s needs, age, interests and wishes – events such movie evenings with discussions, concerts, cooking, intercultural learning activities, etc. Some of our visitors are young people with less opportunities: from hard social background, don’t have parents, living at foster children’s home, having difficulties at school, etc.
The volunteer will work in Lentvaris (14,800 residents), it is 20 km from Vilnius center. There are very good transport connections by bus or train between Vilnius and Lentvaris.
Proposed activities for EVS volunteers:
All activities for every volunteer are focused on non-formal learning, intercultural learning, personal and professional development. The volunteer will help the team to implement activities for open youth center visitors. Specific tasks will be allocated according to the volunteers’ personal abilities and interests.
The volunteer role and main tasks will be: communication with youngsters, building up trust and creating good relations with organization visitors.
Through working with young people in various fields, the volunteer will gain social and personal skills, group work skills, learn how to allocate time, highlighting the priority activities, will get acquainted with our country’s culture, customs, and traditions, will acquire the language and communications skills. We will offer non-formal education seminars, intercultural learning, and language learning activities. Through organizing activities and events, the volunteer will gain communication, organization, entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
Trakai Open Youth space
This open youth space – is accessible to every young person (aged 14-29) from the Trakai area. Everyone is welcome, especially those who do not know where and how to spend leisure time.
For those, who have ideas and don’t know how to implement them, we also give different support (seminars, trainings, consultations, etc.). Every day we have around 10 young visitors. They can play different games, drink tea and chat with friends and discuss important things, play on musical instruments (guitars, keyboard and drums). We organize different activities according to the youngster’s needs, age, interests and wishes – events such movie evenings with discussions, concerts, cooking lessons, intercultural learning activities, etc. Some of our visitors are young people with less opportunities: from hard social background, having difficulties at school, etc.
Open youth center ‘MES’
The aim of Vilnius opened youth center „MES” is to organize and arrange local young people’s spare time through different events, activities, camps, outings, projects, meetings, trainings etc. Our target group is constituted of young people aged from 14 to 30 years. “MES” has also a prevention function to avoid violence, alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction among youngsters. The youth center is opened to all the young people, with or without social, economic, physical or behavioral problems. The youth center is opened five days a week from 3pm to 7pm, some events and activities takes place during the weekend. In 2014-2015 for example we organized several events such as a sleep-over, a fashion night, brain-battles and even youth exchanges with Danish and Dutch people. Besides, the activities on week-end comprise theatre, art and creative writing studios. The task of the volunteer would be to participate in the opened youth center activities. At the opened youth space, young people can use the entire center’s equipment and plan their own free time with supervision of youth workers. He or She will have to communicate with teenagers and befriend them. By doing this the leaders hope to impact the life of the participants and educate them. The center is willing to accept all the ideas and projects of the volunteers. The volunteer has the possibility to propose his/her own project and to develop with the help of the workers.
Antakalnis Open Youth center
Antakalnis open youth center is an institution for young people (14 – 29 years old) to be, to create, to find themselves, to try new things. Our main aim is to create a safe place and conditions for youth to realize their ideas, understand others and themselves, to express their creativity. What is important – everything in this youth center is free, young people don’t have to register or commit to come – it’s their free choice to participate or not.
Youth workers work on the basis of non-formal education, open work principles, all activities here have the main aim – to help young people to understand themselves better and to improve different social, creative skills. Different activities take part in Antakalnis open youth center – informational events (about volunteering, youth politics, democracy processes and so on), discussions, creative workshops, different projects about tolerance, democracy, self-improvement, also, dance, cooking lessons. Some of these activities take part periodically, some – just once. What is important – most of activities are initiated by young people who comes here, that’s why Antakalnis open youth center is always changing and everything depends on people who comes here.
Valakupiai rehabilitation center
Public Institution Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre (VRC), located in Vilnius, Lithuania provides vocational and medical rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) was established legally in 2000. Since 2002 VRC provides vocational and medical rehabilitation for people with severe and moderate physical disabilities in Lithuania. A comprehensive rehabilitation model, standardized methods of assessment and development of vocational skills, innovative (modular) vocational training programs in VRC contribute to the achievement of better employment results of persons with disabilities. Since 2010 VRC has gained a status of national methodological center for vocational rehabilitation. The organization is actively involved in cooperation with organizations from foreign countries, implementation of international projects in the field of social integration of people with disabilities. VRC is a member of the international organization the European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR). The quality of services in VRC complies with requirements of international quality certification LST EN ISO 9001:2008 and EQUASS Excellence quality mark.
Volunteers will live in 3-4 rooms flats with other volunteer (in single room) or in dormitory, where each volunteer will have their own room with shower, toilet, just kitchen will be shared with others. Volunteer who will be chosen in Lentvaris Open Youth Center and in Trakai Open youth space may will live in rented flat in Trakai (2 rooms apartment) with single rooms.

Coordinating organization: Coordinating organization will be ESTA SALTES, which is working with EVS project already more than 6 years.
